Shopping… This is THE shopping spot in the Luberon, with the widest choice of boutiques
Have a drink at La Maison café. Enjoy lunch/dinner at L’insolite, our big favorite. Plenty of restaurants and bars
Eat some ice-cream at Glaces Ravi: find ou which flavor is your favorite?
Explore the quiet narrow streets and the many paths leading to the vegetable gardens
Look for the beautiful fountains (including the Fontaine des Trois Masques), the old school, the schoolchildren’ path.
Don’t miss the view as you leave the village towards Lauris: landscape of a layout so perfect that it looks like it is painted. At a glance, the Renaissance Castle, the Temple, the Church, the village, as if set in fields and vegetable gardens, with the mountain and sky in the background. An ever-changing landscape, even more beautiful when a thunderstorm threatens, tinting the sky with purple hues. Lourmarin is a lowland village, strategically located at the entrance to the Combe that separates the Petit Luberon, to the west, from the Grand Luberon, to the east, and leads northwards. This aspect, so different from the surrounding villages, which are more perched and defensive, gives it a soothing character.
Cucuron
Enjoy Tuesday morning Market (all-year long) and have lunch in one of the restaurants located around the Bassin. We love Le Cercle, such a simple and easy going place.
Buy local food and produce at the Farmers’ Market on Thursday late afternoon-early evening.
Eat some ice-cream at La glacière
Explore the quiet narrow streets and the many paths leading to the Church, the Castle and the Donjon, the 3 high points of the village
Don’t miss the Bassin, a beautiful pond of water shaded by 200 year-old plane trees.
Ansouis
Have lunch or dinner at La closerie.
Treat yourself with French pâtisserie at Pâtisserie Volpert
Explore the quiet narrow streets and the many paths leading to the Castle and beautiful little church
Bring food and drinks and sit behind the church to enjoy the view over the fields and mountain
Don’t miss the church, its floral frescoes, ceiling lights, saints busts : such a little gem !
Vaugines
Have a drink next to the fountain (a “fontaine moussue” “mossy fountain” ; discover what it looks like!)
Don’t miss the church, and its little cemetery (with a beehives wall), below the village, on the right, when leaving the village towards Cucuron. This beautiful church, one of the prettiest of Provence was the setting of the French movie Jean de Florette (dramatic scene on the bench close to the door…)
